LATEST: OASIS rocker NOEL GALLAGHER has cleared up the furore surrounding his controversial comments about JAY-Z's headlining show at the U.K.'s Glastonbury festival, insisting he actually "likes" the rapper.
Gallagher hit the headlines earlier this year (08) when he blasted the music event's organisers for booking a hip-hop act for the traditionally rock n' roll festival.
He stated, "I'm not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong. Jay-Z's got no chance."
But the 99 Problems hitmaker wowed the crowds at Glastonbury on Saturday (28Jun08) night - and even mocked Gallagher by opening his set with his own version of Oasis' 1995 hit Wonderwall.
And now Gallagher has attempted to play down his war of words with the rapper - blaming the media for stirring controversy by asking such questions.
He says, "For the record, I Iike Jay-Z. That's my opinion. If it offends people, don't ask me any more questions. I should do these things and answer like every two-bit pop star."
